MANIFESTE DANDY

In 2012, Daniel SALVATORE SCHIFFER, philosopher and essayist, chose a painting by David to make it the cover of his work entitled “Manifeste DANDY” published by François Bourin Editeur and of which here is a brief extract (p186):

“And since we are talking here about” dandy painter “, there is one who today perfectly illustrates this singular thematic of dandyism. His name is David Jamin (…). David Jamin is the painter, par excellence, of the dandy “introportrait”, as he likes to describe his portraits of young aesthetes where the interiority of the deep being seems to emerge, very sensitive but intense hypersensitivity, from this exteriority of the apparent attitude. ”

The official “Oscar Wilde” site devotes a review to this “Manifeste Dandy”.
